We are thankful that Lianhe Wanbao 联合晚报 featured the heart-warming interaction between our Diabetes Nurse Educator, Rose and Mr Teo who was referred to us by our valued partners, Agency for Integrated Care - AIC Singapore and The People's Association for assistance with his daily insulin injection during his Stay-Home Notice period. This is another example of the Many Helping Hands approach where government bodies, voluntary welfare organizations and other stakeholders collectively provide social assistance to the poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged. Extraordinary times require extraordinary measures, and the need for collaboration between different stakeholders becomes especially critical during this period of uncertainty. We know the usage of alcohol swabs are crucial for disinfections prior to insulin injections and that they are precious commodities now. Therefore, in partnership with Aeras Medical Pte Ltd, Diabetes Singapore will be distributing 400 x packs of alcohol swabs and lancets.
